(NewsReady.com) – Independent voters are the most coveted during a presidential election. These are the people who don’t choose their leaders based on partisan ideologies, but rather the candidate’s platform. According to a new poll, they know who they like this time around.
According to a University of Michigan survey taken in early October, Independent voters prefer President Donald Trump over Joe Biden. The survey’s chief economist, Richard Curtin, explained non-partisan voters decide most elections and the president has a “slight advantage of 2 or 3 points.”
President Donald Trump is behind in every national poll, but he enjoys a small lead among voters not aligned with either party, data from the University of Michigan’s survey of American consumers show. https://t.co/HBBAuuXNQR

An October 20 poll update from The Guardian shows President Trump leading Biden in Iowa and Ohio, two important battleground states. Florida’s early voting numbers also show Democrats and Republicans are showing up to the polls in nearly equal numbers.
The media is predicting Biden is going to win in a landslide (hello, 2016), but the latest polls show the race is much closer than the Left thinks.
