(NewsReady.com) – “Peace in the Middle East” has always kind of seemed like an impossible promise made by politicians who want our votes. So, when news broke that President Donald Trump had brokered a historic deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), he was widely praised. That acclaim has now led to a nomination for a prestigious award.
On September 9, a Norwegian lawmaker announced he’d nominated Trump for a 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. Christian Tybring-Gjedde told Fox News he picked the US president because of his efforts to “create peace between nations.” The president thanked the lawmaker for the nomination.

The agreement between the two countries seeks to normalize relations in the region. The UAE and Israel are going to also sign bilateral agreements dealing with tourism, technology, healthcare, and many other important issues.
This isn’t the first time President Trump has been nominated. Tybring-Gjedde and another Norweigan also threw his name into the hat in 2018. The winner will be announced in October 2021.
