(NewsReady.com) – On November 9, President Donald Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper. The decision caused many to speculate about what the commander-in-chief was planning. New reports are giving the country a glimpse into what might be happening.
According to a November 16 report by the Wall Street Journal, the president is drawing up plans to bring more American troops home from the Middle East. Trump is expected to tell the Pentagon to draw down the soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq, leaving roughly 2,500 service members in each country by January 15.
Last week, Ivanka Trump commended her father for his work to put an end to the nearly 20-year-long wars.
President Trump continues to end the endless foreign wars and bring home our troops! 🇺🇸 https://t.co/9bTWz7qtaD

The Pentagon sent commanders a “warning order” to begin the process of drawing down troops. President Trump spent his tenure in office making it clear he has no interest in continuing the “endless wars” the previous occupants of his office embroiled the country in. It makes sense he would try to get it finalized before the end of his first term.
