(NewsReady.com) – A new task force was created by President Trump that will take charge of the federal government’s response to the recent coronavirus outbreak. The World Health Organization (WHO) recently declared the virus to be an international public health emergency. The WHO fears of what could happen if it were to spread to other nations who aren’t prepared to handle the highly-contagious virus.
Trump’s new force is comprised of experts from all spectrums of the government. It’s being led by Alex Azar, Health and Human Services Secretary, who is coordinating with the National Security Council. The team consists of 12 members, including individuals from the National Security Agency (NSA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Thus far, the team is working closely with Chinese authorities to learn more about the virus’s properties and behavior. Trump tweeted about the coordination efforts.
Just received a briefing on the Coronavirus in China from all of our GREAT agencies, who are also working closely with China. We will continue to monitor the ongoing developments. We have the best experts anywhere in the world, and they are on top of it 24/7! pic.twitter.com/rrtF1Stk78
