US Military Denies Military Has Gone Woke
(NewsReady.com) – The military has taken a lot of criticism in recent years for allegedly going woke. Republicans have sounded the alarm over diversity training in the service branches. Top Army leaders are denying the allegations and defending their push for inclusivity.
Military leaders attended the Association of the US Army’s annual convention last week in Washington DC. At a press conference on October 10, Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth addressed the criticism facing the Armed Forces.
The secretary said the military is “criticized sometimes for being woke,” but claimed she doesn’t know what that even means. However, she told the press that if it’s supposed to mean the Army isn’t focused on combat readiness, then it doesn’t “reflect what [she] see[s] at installations all around the country or overseas” when she takes trips to visit.
Wormuth went on to say she believes leaders need to promote inclusivity, which is what makes diversity programs so crucial.
“We get criticized sometimes for being 'woke.'I'm not sure what 'woke' means,” explained the Army's top civilian.

Service members recently spoke to Fox News and said they think the focus on inclusivity has made it hard for the military to recruit. One unnamed soldier said they think Army leadership is “woke” and “Equity-diversity is another way to divide and control the masses.”
Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has also blamed the military’s so-called wokeness on its inability to recruit new members to serve.
