(NewsReady.com) – Tension between Ukraine and Russia is extremely high. Russian President Vladimir Putin seems to be preparing for something nefarious by building up his military presence along his country’s border with Ukraine. New comments by a respected general paint a horrifying picture.
In November, during a trip to Washington, DC, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said he thinks Russia will invade his country by the end of January. The prediction comes after Putin sent 92,000 troops to its border along with a large amount of military equipment. The troop buildup spans the north, east, and banks of the Black Sea, allowing for an aggressive military assault from all directions.
The map included in @MilitaryTimes piece shows what Ukraine’s preparing for should Russia invade by land, sea, air. Other scenarios exist outside this worst-case one. In any case destruction, loss of life would be huge. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, & Odesa cities have millions of ppl. pic.twitter.com/TqfR6RRcYV

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently said the Pentagon isn’t “sure what Mr. Putin is up to.”
A potential attack would not be the first time Putin has assaulted Ukraine. In 2014, during former President Barack Obama’s administration, Russia annexed Crimea. The US has stood firmly on the side of the Ukrainian government, even sending military aid. However, it’s unclear just how involved America would get if Putin decided to carry out a large-scale assault.
While Reznikov remains convinced war is imminent, the Kremlin has denied the accusations saying it has no intention of attacking its neighbor.
