(NewsReady.com) – It looks like the White House is starting to get nervous about President Joe Biden’s catastrophic poll numbers. Now, staffers have started attacking media outlets that don’t push Biden’s “achievements” hard enough. It’s a strategy – but is it a winning one?
With President Joe Biden receiving poor job performance numbers and the midterms approaching, the White House team has amped up attacks on media reports with which it disagrees. https://t.co/lB1DXv9Cew

Last Thursday, Politico journalist Adam Cancryn tweeted a link to the site’s “West Wing Playbook” newsletter. This is mostly a gossip page that covers the comings and goings of the White House staff, but it seems some people in the Biden administration feel it should be a cheerleader for the president. Soon after Cancryn’s tweet, Deputy Communications Director Kate Berner sent a snarky reply referencing the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, low unemployment claims, and US efforts to hold gas prices down – claiming she “can’t find any coverage of it” in the newsletter.
Other White House staffers joined in the abuse of Politico – but the media company hit back with a screenshot of the “Playbook” discussing Jackson’s confirmation, captioned “Must be talking about another newsletter!” Another tweet to Berner showed more screenshots of positive coverage of the administration.
It looks like a trivial incident – unhappy minor staffers poking fun at a news website – but there’s no doubt Biden’s approval ratings are in serious trouble. A majority of Americans now believe he’s bad for the country. The question is, will getting more positive coverage in an online newspaper most Americans don’t read really turn things around for the struggling president? It seems like it’s going to take more than that.
