(NewsReady.com) – On January 14, the CDC updated its mask guidance, admitting cloth masks offer the least amount of protection from COVID-19. The health agency recommended people who want to wear face coverings should use N95s or KN95s for the highest level of protection. After the update, President Joe Biden’s administration announced it would be tapping the federal Strategic National Stockpile to provide these masks to Americans.
The Biden administration will begin sending N95 masks to community health centers and pharmacies, including those in grocery stores, around the country. The distribution of 400 million face coverings will begin at the end of January. People who want the masks will be able to get them from the facilities and businesses in their towns.
Our Administration is making 400 million N95 masks from the Strategic National Stockpile available for free to Americans.
N95 masks will be available for the public to pick up at tens of thousands of local pharmacies and health centers.

In addition to the masks, the Biden administration is reportedly going to give out one billion free at-home COVID-19 tests. On January 18, the government launched COVIDtests.org, a website where households can order four coronavirus test kits for their homes. The US Postal Service (USPS) will begin mailing the kits out at the end of the month, starting with the ZIP codes with the highest rate of cases and deaths. Each day, 20% of the tests will go to those areas first.
