(NewsReady.com) – The White House reported on Friday that one of the Middle East’s most wanted terrorists is dead following a US airstrike. Qassim al-Rimi died after a long intelligence operation. Although details of the attack haven’t been released, it’s believed to have been a drone strike that destroyed a building in eastern Yemen known to be used by al-Qaeda terrorists.
At the direction of President Trump, the U.S. conducted a counterterrorism operation in Yemen that successfully eliminated Qasim al-Rimi, a founder and the leader of al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula and a deputy to al-Qa’ida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. https://t.co/ayOmTpzH04

Al-Rimi has been a priority target since December when he claimed responsibility for the terrorist shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola that left 3 people dead and 10 wounded in Florida.
Announcing al-Rimi’s death, President Trump promised to continue tracking down and killing terrorists who want to hurt Americans.
